Bridgnorth is looking for people to look after its busy art trail.

People are being offered the opportunity to adopt one of the town's train statue's which are part of the "Catch Me Who Can" trail.

The trail will be in the town for the next two years, but was officially launched on the 28th July.

With over 2,500 maps handed out to those exploring the Bridgnorth Sculpture trail, organisers have set up the scheme in a hope that those who care for the train will be their eyes and ears.

They want adopters to ensure that the trains are kept looking their best and any damage is quickly reported.

Councillor Julia Buckley, chairwoman of the art trail, said: "It's a chance for local residents to feel part of the project.

"We really need eyes and ears to make sure that any damage is reported promptly.

"We also need the occasional wipe over with a cloth, especially for those statues situated under trees, and that get a regular covering of leaves and seeds when it rains."

Currently, the Filtermist Steams Ahead train on Fox Corner is the only one that has been adopted, meaning all 11 other trains are up for grabs.

Anybody interested in getting involved with the scheme should write to info@bridgnorth-art-trail.co.uk or call 01746 552121.
